Mayreau

Picture paradise and you're picturing Mayreau, the Grenadines’ smallest island. Soft-white sands. Swaying palms. Crystalline currents. It's so relaxed here, the only village isn’t even named.

The Desert Island Drifter

So few boats moor at Mayreau, you can claim this Caribbean paradise as your own. The Grenadines’ smallest inhabited island is a castaway’s dream. Pristine beaches. Little development. Verdant forests that tumble down the hillsides. It’s so lowkey here, the only village is unnamed. Accessible only by boat, don’t expect things to change anytime soon. Your luxury Y.CO yacht is a ticket to paradise.

Reasons to Visit Mayreau

The Paradisiacal Pitstop

Unspoilt. Untouched. At just 4sq km, this atoll is tiny, but the scenes are worthy of the big screen. With such incredible beaches, doing nothing is the island's favourite pastime. Weigh anchor among the electric blues of Saltwhistle Bay to swim, snorkel or sunbathe. This palm-ringed cove on the northern coast is so pretty, it flusters postcard photographers. Want to know more? Here are three reasons to charter a Mayreau yacht.

Mayreau Hot Springs

Mayreau has the best beaches in the Grenadines. Soft, pillowy sands. Palm trees that rustle in the breeze. A calm no masseuse could ever replicate. On an island where so little happens it doesn't mean nothing is going on. Position your Y.CO yacht off the east coast to witness Mayreau Hot Springs, an incredibly rich diving reef. Colourful tropical fish like creole wrasse and majestic rays glide around this underwater playground.

Hiking Station Hill

If you fancy a break from the beach – if such a thing is even necessary! – then a hike to the summit of Station Hill is enough to get your heartrate up. It takes a leisurely 20 minutes or so to reach Mayreau’s highest point, but the crow’s nest view that looks out across the deserted Tobago Cays is ideal for plotting the next spot to take your Y.CO yacht.

Bars by the Dozen

For blissful Caribbean quiet, you can't beat Mayreau. Only a few hundred inhabitants live here, but boy can they throw a welcoming party. With around a dozen bars on the island, the atoll boasts an impressive pubs-to-people ratio. Our pick is the Last Bar Before the Jungle, an almost makeshift beach shack on Saltwater Bay that does the island’s best cocktails. Best way to get there? Tender.
